Flooding after new valve stems put into shower and tub
Author: Lilg (CA)

Hi,
Yesterday a friend installed 4 new valves into my tub and shower, everything seemed okay until a hour later, when behind my hot water tank, it began flooding water. I had to shut the water off at the main. What could be wrong?

From your description, the water heater started leaking, but if so it had NOTHING to do with the work done on the faucets.

if it is the water heater leaking, there is a cold water shut off right above the heater. shut it and turn your main valve back on. at least you will have cold water to the toilet and the rest of the house.
