 Slightly creative shower project
Author: ericsandstone (TX)

Inspired by steampunk lamps, I decided to get a bit creative with my shower and handheld.

I like having my shower, handheld, and a way to flush water into my ears for wax removal. I could not have all 3 options with a single shower arm so, I did this.

From an artistic or creative standpoint, what would you do differently?

How would you set this up in a practical manner? As in having the shower, handheld, and earpic "waterpick?" Options?

I am not most pleased with the amount of weight that is hanging on the 3-1/2" brass nipple in the dropear 90... What would you do differently so all of this weight wasn't unsupported?

I am not aware of a way to support this contraption since I am living in an apartment and do not want to make holes in walls or tile for support

I looked at showers here and saw the shower / handheld combos with the magnetic housing for the handheld. I am considering getting one of those to cut down on the contraption's size.

Thought about redoing the whole thing in cpvc fron the brass nipple's elbow. This would take off weight but, then everything not supported would be much more likely to break under stress... Right?

couple if things.
I would not worry about the drop ear ell behind the wall. they are very strong.
I would worry about side to side movement.
using a van hanger will stop that.
you will need to drill in the tile to mount the hanger.
also the hanger is only coated steel so it will rust but at least you get the idea.

one more thing. make sure to shut of the water at the shower valve after each use. if you leave the water on but just shut the ball valves you will get a cross connection and the hot and cold water can crossover.

A "hand held" diverter between the regular arm and shower head. A second one attached to that one will give you three openings and will depend on how you operate the diverter valves.

Thanks for prompt responses. I will look into these handheld diverters.
