I have a Older Model Flame Guard,US Craft master 30 gal Gas Water Heater. The Pilot Lite will stay on But as soon as I begin to rise the Temperature Contour to Warm the Pilot will extinguish and The I have to start the Process over again. NOTE: I just replaced the Thermocouple today for the Piolt, clened FIVR With Toothbrush & Vacume as Suggested( Not too dirty)also Checked Chimney tube for Obstruction, None found. Thinking it may be the Thermal Switch that needs replaced. Any Advice or insight would be Appreciated..... thank you..

The thermal switch would not let the pilot stay on if it were bad.

Thank you... do you know what could be Tripping The Thermal Switch every time I Turn the Thermostat up to Normal heating Range? Maybe it's the Thermostat itself..maybe a Short in the wiring on the Thermal Switch... I'm at a Loss on this myself...

How old is the water heater? I would be tempted tp replace it with a new efficient water heater if it is over 5 years old.
