 Installing PEX potable tubing

Currently 3/4" galvanized pipe is used in the main line. Do I replace with 3/4" or 1" PEX, seeing that the 3/4" PEX is so much smaller in diameter. Also branches are currently 1/2" galvanized, replace with 1/2 or 3/4" PEX? Will the smaller diameter PEX effect water flow rate or pressure? Considering using Everhot Pex fittings and Mr. Pex tubing. All your answers will truly be appreciated. GOD bless you all!

3/4 pex will not be that much smaller than 3/4 galvanized.
use 1/2 inch for the branches if the branch feeds one or two fixtures. 3 fixtures on a branch need 3/4 pex.
have you thought about a manifold set-up ?

Bear with me. I plan on tapping into a galvanized tee with a 3/4" PEX x NPT Threaded Brass Ball Valve, running PEX from there to a 4-port Copper Manifold with 1/2" PEX Valves, 3/4" PEX x Open. The 1/2" PEX (1) to kitchen sink, (2) to a utility sink in basement, (3) to an outside spigot / which currently is 3/4", and the 3/4" open end of manifold to cold side of water heater which will have copper. On the hot side of water heater, 3/4" copper to Pex, which again connects to a manifold, 1/2" valves to sinks and 3/4" open end to another threaded brass ball valve, which will connect to a galvanized 90 elbow. Will this have the same water flow that I currently have or will it drop? Also, when connecting the dielectric union at the water heater, should I use a dielectric nipple or brass? Appreciate all advice. GOD bless.

this all sounds good to me.
use a 3/4 inch stainless steel nipple at the water heater.
big box stores now carry them.
your volume of water will only be as good as the tie in point.

The O.D. of PEX is almost the same as the I.D. of galvanized, so there is a BIG difference in capacity.

So if I understand correctly, a 3/4" pex would reduce the amount of water and I'd be better off with replacing it with 1".....correct.....this is what happens when your inept....thanks all....GOD bless
