Capping steel water line
Author: danst (SC) This afternoon I accidentally broke off a 3/4" galvanized steel water line that was capped just above ground level in my yard. It broke off just below the threads (and below ground level). How can I safely cap this long-term? I have no use for the line, but don't know where it connects to the rest of the house water lines to cap it further back.

Author: george 7941 (Canada) It is also possible that the line is so corroded that a fitting which can be unthreaded cannot be reached. In that situation consider the use of a corporation fitting
