 Replacing Shower Faucet
Author: Nglsales (CA)

My house was built in the 1980s. I would like to replace my old plastic pullout shower faucet with an updated faucet. I have the standard valve with holes at 5 pm and 7 pm. I bought a shower valve adapter kit 145058 to convert standard faucet to moentrol but it will not fit over the valve. I’m not sure if the valve comes out to be able to put the brass adapter on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best to replace the entire shower valve with new. this way the new trim easily installs and you have multiple options.

There is NO such thing. It only applies IF you already have a Moen valve. In that case the adapter WOULD allow the new trim to fit. BUT, first you have to know the make and model of YOUR valve.

Your valve is Price Pfister Avanti. Trim parts are still available at plumbing parts distributors
