toiletproblems (Canada)
I am the care coordinator for a 90 year old man with total short term memory loss and some confusion. Well, maybe more than just some. Our problem is to keep him from flushing his incontinence products down the toilet. There's not much rational thought evident so you can't reason with him. He seems to know that it's the pads that are clogging the toilet so he's decided not to wear them which causes different problems but he doesn't seem able to realize that the garbage can standing right next to the toilet is where the pad should go. Soooooooo, what I am looking for is some kind of cage style catcher placed in the toilet bowl that will let poop go through but not pads. Is there such a thing or do you have any other suggestions? We tried turning the water off but he's figured out how to fix that. The resulting flooding due to the daily clogged toilets is ruining the ceilings in the suite below and causing all kinds of messy problems.
