Hi,
My Mom's house was built in the 50s and I think her bathroom sink is that old. One of the handles is broke and both hot and cold drip a little when closed. I want to replace the whole faucet but do not know how to remove it. Unlike modern faucets, it has a solid bar beneath the sink with three pipes that go up through the holes in the sink. All three pipes are threaded and have nuts and washers below the sink. When the handle is removed on the faucet above the sink I can see that I can easily unscrew the base of each valve above the sink which would allow the faucet to be removed out the bottom. What I cannot figure out is how to remove the pipe going to the spicket. Even if I could spin the spicket it could only spin less than half a turn as it would then hit the backsplash. I have some pictures I could share but do not see how to post them here. Hopefully someone has experience with this type of old faucet and can provide some advice. Thanks, Frank
