When testing the gas system pressure, do I need to test supply pressure at each gas appliance at my house, or can I simply test at one point in the system and the gas pressure is the same throughout all my pipes?
Even if they are different pipe sizes? I feel like the pressure would be the same throughout but I’m not 100% on that.

It is a "gas" so the pressure is the same EVERYWHERE, regardless of which floor it is on.

When gas is actually FLOWING there may, or may not, depending on 'LOAD', be differences.
When 'static' all will be equal.

Okay let me provide more details in case my question was ambiguous. At my home I have the meter with the main regulator, then low (~7” wc) pressure pipes feeding the generator, water heater, and furnace. I need to adjust the main regulator to supply the generator with 7” wc. I’m trying to simply hook my manometer up to the supply-side test port on my furnace in the basement, rather than hooking up at the generator outdoors, because it’s freezing outside nowadays.
Obviously once I finalize the main regulator setting, I’ll hook up on the manifold side test port on the furnace and adjust to 3.5” if necessary. Make sense?

If you need 7" static pressure you may 'hook-up' anywhere 'downstream' of the meter regulator but 'upstream' of any appliance 'adjustment'.
The key word being 'static', aka no flow.

You should also consider that the gas utility might look unkindly to you adjusting THEIR regulator without permission. Call them to have it adjusted. If the furnace regulator is adjusted properly now, it will still be adjusted afterwards. THAT is its function.

You can check at the inlet port of your furnace gas valve. Not the outlet port.
