 Shower suddenly losing pressure
Author: Erb721 (GA)

This is such a fantastic forum! I’ve searched, but haven’t seen quite what I’m dealing with.

I have a single handle Glacier Bay shower faucet. Recently, in the middle of taking a shower, the pressure will suddenly drop significantly. If I turn the shower off, then immediately back on the pressure returns to normal. However this may happen again and again throughout the shower. Or I may take a shower and the pressure be fine the whole time. It doesn’t matter if there is other water running in the house.

Thoughts? I’m on city water and in a condo. I don’t believe it is a clogged shower head.

Thank you in advance for your insight!

Because there seems to be no pattern I would guess other users in the condo are using water at the same time and the pressure varies while you shower. This is pure speculation on what you describe...I could be wrong. Others on this site can have their opinions so stay tuned.

I thought that maybe as well, except this is a recent issue and I’ve lived here for years. It also doesn’t coincide at all with my neighbor’s water issue (the one I share a bathroom wall with).

Sorry, meant to add... it only affects the master shower, no other shower or faucet in the home.

It may be the only pressure balanced valve in your unit.
