It wouldn't hurt to have a extra clip.
It looks like the cap (more like a plug) is what you use if you want to no longer have a sprayer or comes with the faucet if it is not equipped with a sprayer. Again it wouldn't hurt to have it in case some thing goes wrong you can cap off the hose and they still can use the faucet.
It always good to have options.

yes sir options are good. I gave the part number to the homeowner so that they can ask Delta to send replacement under warranty. Then he does want me to return to install the sprayer and hose. I believe I have a good repeat customer developing which is so important for my 2 year old plumbing business.
how long have you been a plumber Curly? Do you run your own plumbing business?
