There is no nut to turn. How do you disconnect this type of valve?

We need a picture of you valve. It could be soldered on or a push-fit(Sharkbite, etc).

Removed the clip and the flex pipe. I can turn the valve freely but it does not disconnect.

I haven't seen that before, but I would remove the clip and see if the chrome ring on the wall side of the clip will pull towards the valve. The clip might be preventing the chrome ring from accidentally being pulled forward and releasing the grip ring.

I researched this on YouTube and it looks like I need a special tool in order to pull this fitting off the copper pipe. The question is what type of tool do I need to buy. I guess this tool came with the fitting when the plumber installed it but I don’t have it and I am not sure if one such tool works with all brands or if every brand has its own tool.

Doesn't look like you need a special tool.

Good Luck.
