Can someone tell me what kind of fittings these are
Author: Kenny48 (NC)

I am trying to replace a low boy hot water heater in my house. I moved in here a year ago, and the hot water heater dates back to when the house was built in 2008. There is a combination of pvc pipe as well as pex. The hot water heater appears to be installed with pvc, but I have never seen fittings like these before. It is white pipe, with brass fittings attached somehow with black rubber bands. Does anyone know what this is? The house was owner built. I live in rural North Carolina. Hope you can see this image.

The white pipe is Pex and the bands are copper crimp rings.

Thanks.

I found these by searching google and it does appears it is pex pipe and fittings. When I looked up pex, I finally found these.

Great I have none of the necessary tools!

Might just as well have some one install it for me.

Just cut it off and use sharkbite water heater hoses.
