there's always a possibility you didn't get the wax seal right on the toilet.
dampen a few paper towels a tuck them all around the base of the toilet. this will give a good temporary seal. see what happens..

Namvet, what you really should do is take up the toilet and bleach wash the floor and bottom of the toilet then let it all dry and reinstall the toilet with the proper amount of wax rings, then caulk all but the very back side of the toilet. All the best you...love my Vets.

proper amount of wax rings = ONE

the BACK (bottom) of the flange should rest ON TOP OF the finished floor

else: poor seal and y'all get to breath sewer gasses AND your subfloor INVISIBLY rots away

Also Bern, I find that with low volume Flush toilets, its best to trim with a Razor Knife the Plastic inside to the wax. This stops any interference with the flush water and helps move waste to the sewer.

? what plastic ?

if the flange is installed correctly there is no need for plastic !

the horn on the bowl fits INTO the flange, the wax ring is merely to trap sewer gasses

a PROPERLY installed toilet connected to PROPERLY installed piping will work just fine (but stink) w/o a wax seal

like I said above - the plastic serves NO PURPOSE on a PROPERLY installed flange
