A potential customer is planning for a nice outdoor his and her's soaker tubs: [s20.postimg.cc]

He wants to be able to get the max water level on the tub so asked if the overflow can be eliminated with a cap. Because they are outdoors they are not concerned with spilling.

The drains will gravity drain into a sump located below a lower deck with very limited access for the plumber to do the plumbing. Then the discharge from the sump will be pumped back up and under a new deck (he has a carpenter hired for this part) the tubs will sit on. I suppose all the normal rules still apply: every fixture will have a trap and this trap will be vented?

The waters, the drain from the sump and the fixture vents will go through a concrete wall behind where these tubs sit in the picture. There is a 2" kitchen drain near bye that I could tie into. I would have to rent a core drilling machine for the 2" and 1 1/2" ABS pipes.

any thoughts on this project? I need to come up with a bid in the next few days.

\the spout for the faucets will have to above the rim of the tubs.
so something like this will be needed.

the hand held shower is a nice touch but not necessary.
remember the person sits with their back on the end of the tub away from the faucet. so they will be looking at a wall.
you'll have to set the tubs with the drain 5 feet away from the wall so they can sit with their back to the wall looking at the great outdoors.
you can run 2 inch to the wall and run a vent up the wall with two 1 1/2 inch trap arms (one for each tub).
don't forget that they will need a lot of hot water to fill both tubs. so a larger water heater may be needed.
stuffing the overflow hole is not a problem outside..

nope .... just answered from the gut

they probably can't afford to do the job right

exposed chrome supply piping

polished brass waste

custom plug for overflow

you can work 2-3 hours on your bid

then, when they bit*h and moan ?

unless you are starving you don't need this job except on a time and material basis

Wouldn't a hot tub be simpler, and just as nice?

I think what you need to do is just call up the people in the Cialis ad and see how they did it. Every Cialis Ed has these. I've been thinking having some his and hers tubs at my house also.
