Hello. I have an old (18 years) 80 gallon electric (gas not available) water heater in a Myrtle Beach 3 bath Condo. Large capacity is for a Jaccuzzi in the master bath. I’m preparing to replace it. Earlier post suggested a tankless should not be used. Thanks to those that offered advice.

Are there any better replacements than going with another 80 gallon size? Would like to save energy with seasonal rentals and space in the utility closet. Don’t want to sacrifice comfort. Any models or suggestions appreciated.

They don't make 80 gallon electric water heaters any more.I suggest 2- 50 Gallon heaters.And tell The Plumber to pipe them Parallel and not in series...in series the first heater take a beating,Parallel the water draws evenly.

turn the lower element down to 90 deg so you will be using just the top element. you can adjust it back up when you have a heavy demand.

I have no problem with that,what I'm taking about is the hot from one water heater going into the cold of the second,Then we can see a problem and thats what some people call "series". You see this mess all the time.
