modify delta kitchen faucet to remove side sprayer

I"m installing a new Delta 2-handle kitchen faucet, but I do not want to install the hand sprayer. How do I modify the faucet to cap off the valve to the hand sprayer? What kind of cap can be used? The valve does not have threads - it looks like a quick connection which snaps in place - not twists. Appreciate any advise. The Delta folks are not much help.

The Delta 2-handle faucet is a well engineered kitchen faucet. What you are proposing to do is the same as if you puchased a chocolate cake mix and wanted a vanilla (white) cake. The answer is that you would have to re-engineer the faucet.

Why not take back the faucet with sprayer and just purchase a Delta 2 handle kitchen faucet less sprayer. They are available. For example 2256 or 2402 LHP.

Best Wishes

If you can not take the faucet back, then just attach the sprayer and roll it up under the sink.

But installing a faucet designed without the sprayer would be ideal.

there is no "cap" made for that type of connection. you either hook it up and leave it under the sink or you buy a new faucet that does not have a sprayer

Depending on which faucet you have, there may have been a device with the faucet that snaps onto the faucet side to seal it off. Sometimes it is a "dual purpose" piece which is connected one way to use the hose and the second connection to seal it off.

....just get the proper faucet....

DO NOT roll it up and leave under the sink .... if something 'shifts' you could have a mini-flood if the divertor is tripped by pressure on the spray handle/lever/button

if you must keep the faucet you have, cut the hose about 1 foot from the faucet end. stick a plug inside the hose and tighten a hose clamp over it.
reach under the sink and slide the faucet end of the hose onto it's fitting.

If you could post the faucet numbers I might be able to select a pin for the quick connect and describe how to remove the divertor which should be removed when the sprayer is not used. With the number of models still sold. With out the product number do it the wrong way and let the sprayer hang out under the sink.
