closet flange too close to rear wall

Is it possible to add a spacer to the closet flange drain pipe so that the toilet will not sit too close to the rear wall? P.S. This is an existing bathroom - with slab foundation - built in Southern California in 1985.

There are offset flanges available, but you have to remove the existing one.

measure from finished wall to center of the pipe/flange. This is your rough-in, it should be 10"....12"...14". Do not include the baseboard when you measure. Buy the toilet that matches your measurement.

RE: Offset flange - how long is the pipe from front to rear? Do you have to tear up the slab do install it?

most offset flanges will move the hole 1 1/2" and yes you will have to chip some concrete to install it properly.

You may be able to find a toilet that fits perfect without busting up the floor! There are toilets that will fit less than one of the standard rough in sizes. What is the dimension from the wall to the center of the flange?

If I had a choice, it would be a 10" toilet instead of using an offset flange, (to try and fit a 12" model), if that's the scenario your faced with.

There are circumstances like a 12" rough Toto Drake will go onto a 10 7/8 actual rough in. Or, the toilet that Packy has mentioned several times that is adjustable from 10-14" rough. Its not my favorite toilet as it is a one of a kind flushing mechanism but it would also work.[www.niagaraflapperless.ca]

There is no way to tell what has to be done, without seeing the actual installation.
