Just recently our basement toilet has started to hum (or rumble) when the toilet just starts to stop filling. Some one happen to have an an answer to this noisy problem?

Could be that fill valve is in need of replacement. Some can be rebuilt but most just replace the valve.
Check for high water pressure also. Can play a role in malfunction of fill valves and other plumbing fixtures in the home.

I second the motion and this is a job you can do yourself with a nice FloodMaster fill valve from our sponsor or your local home center.

When you change the fill valve also take a few min. and replace the flapper.
There is nothing worst then putting in a good fluidmaster and hearing it kick on when no one flushes the toilet.
Just a thought

I thank all of you for your help!
What a nice place to find out answers.
My husband is disabled and I have to do minor repairs myself.
