Hi. So I have the afore mentioned Rheem RTEX18 and I also have the afore mentioned Delta Multi running the grey RP46074 cartridge. The tankless unit can be adjusted upto 140 degrees. My Delta cartridge keeps throttling down the temp to warm from the 120 I have it set to. I have tried 110 and 115 also with the same results. I can set it and I'm good everywhere else in the house. Is this just a bad choice for use with a tankless unit? Is there a good choice or choices? Thanks.

That valve does NOT "adjust the temperature" of the water. All it does is modulate the pressures on both sides so they stay equal. If the temperature is changing, then something is reducing the flow, not the pressure, on one side or the other.

Something to keep in mind,
If the gallons per minute flow thru the tankless water heater is increased above its flow spec then the temp of the hot water will drop. So, if your shower control is allowing more hot water (say you have a multi-shower head shower or a shower head that is old-school) then the temp can drop due to more flow than the WH can fully heat. If you turn on the shower at a low flow setting does the temp rise?

Take the handle and the chrome body trim of the faucet, you can leave the water on, make sure the handle is at the 3 o'clock position, see the white plastic piece.... Pull it out and adjust turn it to the right as far as it will go place the handle back on and try it if it gets hot enough to burn then you have adjusted to the MAX hot, do I suggest this no in places that have little kids in fact a plumber can be sued easily if the adjust to more than 125 here. If it is just cold and the handle only rotates to about 1 o'clock position then pull out the temp adjust disk and turn the other way until you have the temp you want. Replace the trim and the handle and enjoy your hot showers
