Hello Everyone, I have an old toilet but in very good shape, it now leaks at the bottom, so i want to replace the wax seal with a fluid master rubber seal. my question is, the two bolts in the front, how are they in the floor, are they just screwed into the floor, most of all can i do without these two and just use the flange bolts that i got with the fluid master kit? I want to use the same toilet its in great shape.please let me know and Thanks

WE used to use stove bolts and nuts through the bowl just to have something to attach the "caps" to.

yeah, in the old days they used lead closet bends with the flange barely attached to the lead (if there was any flange at all). so the front bolts were needed to stabilize and secure the bowl.
if the flange is cast iron or another modern material, no front bolts needed.
