Howdy all,
2 person home...replacing 40 gallon gas hot water heater...space is limited...found a rheem 30 gallon that will fit. is that big enough for two people? I think the biggest hot water use would be maybe showering back to back in the morning.
Thanks.

It is very marginal, at best, but if it is a small space that only the 30 will fit, you don't have much choice.

If you are removing a 40 gallon tank there should be a new 40 gallon model that will go back into that space? They come in taller/skinny sizes, as well a shorter but larger diameter.

he new heaters are about 2" wider than the older ones so there may not be room for it, or the access opening may be too narrow.
