Hi All,
I'm replacing the ceramic cartridge in my brother's shower/tub. It's a Price Pfister, I purchased the correct replacement part and am currently unable to get the old cartridge out. Any ideas or suggestions? I know Moen makes an extractor tool, but this isn't a Moen part. I'm so frustrated. Hopefully the pic uploads so you can see what I've got.

Thanks in advance!

Thank you so much. I thought I could figure out the image loading, but here we are.
Quick update: it appears that the cartridge was permanently attached. I sprayed white vinegar hoping to loosen it up.That was ineffective BUT it seems to have cleared out the hard water deposits that were preventing hot water from getting through. I gave up, reassembled the entire thing and turned the water back on. Tested the shower and surprise! Hot water. I'm gonna call it a win.
Thank you again for such a quick response. I essentially lost an entire day to what should have been a quick project. Tomorrow I'm gonna tackle fixing the garbage disposal and replacing the kitchen faucet/sprayer. Keep an eye out for me...

yes, that limescale can be pesky, clogs the screens on faucet aerators so you know it can cause problems in small openings or orifices in shower controls. Glad you got it going, cold showers are no fun.

They are NEVER "permanently attached". You just need to put the screw back in to the end of the stem, grab it with a pair of pliers and yank very hard. That cartridge is probably two pieces with a separate black balancing unit, if so the new one will be a one piece unit.
