Are those hose threads? Reminds me of a washing machine supply hose.

they should be standard 1/2" nuts and almost EVERY hardware/big box store will have a replacement hose, although they are usually 60" or 72" long.

No they are 1/2" ips size connectors.

faucet shanks are 1/2 IPS but the shanks are not tapered like a nipple is.

Thanks for the replies. As these aren't standard faucet supply lines and I couldn't source exact replacements, I decided to install a small pipe adapter to the shower panel to facilitate use of off-the-shelf braided hoses.
I didn't want to risk using a different style fitting to connect to the panel so the conversion to "standard" seemed like the best course of action.
