Funny video, but serious questions. What brand & model is this water heater?

Not able to know the brand from the side view given in the video. Sometimes people change from elec to gas or vice-versa. Or they may have installed a new tankless water heater. Often the first 2 digits of the water heater's serial number will tell you what year it was made. And many have a sticker/placard that give the year of manufacture.

Is you interest just due to being curious, or some other reason? Most youtube videos allow comments and questions, you could post there and see if the person that made the video can find out for you.

I was thinking the heat pump units haven't been around long enough to recoup the purchase price in energy savings, let alone being only suitable for salvage.

They don't seem to make sense in cold climates due to recovery time and the lack of excess heat in basements, and I'd love to know if that's part of why this poor robot got kicked to the curb.

It could also be that the basement is cold enough without an "air conditioner" running down there.
