So, we just moved into a new house, and in the last three months the kitchen sink has gone through three aerators, including one on a faucet-mount water filter. After a few weeks of being mounted on the faucet, water just starts spraying out from where the threads meet. No signs of deterioration in the rubber gaskets.
My first thought is that it is a water pressure issue, but the water pressure does not SEEM too high in the house; if anything in the showers it seems a bit low, and when the washing machine is running, hot water in the kitchen gets reduced to barely a trickle. But, when I turn hot water on, it sometimes does make a knocking sound in the basement.
The faucet is brushed metal, and the only aerators I've been able to get have been plastic, and only screw on maybe 2 or 3 threads. Could that be the issue?
Oh, and we've got tankless hot water, in case that's relevant.
Hope that is explained well enough; thanks for the responses!

You need to get the proper aerator for that faucet.

Yeah, unfortunately, I checked and it looks like Moen does not make the exact aerator for this faucet anymore, or even that model of faucet anymore.

Do you know the model, or can you post a photo of the faucet?

Aerators, apply restriction to a faucet to create air bubbles. Not all aerators are the same, nor are they inter-changeable. If your faucet is made in another country, chances are it requires a metric thread aerator. Some American companies require "their" aerators as OEM, rather than generic ones.
Knowing the exact manufacturer is very important. Look a likes, won't do it when trying to resolve issues like aerators blowing off faucet. Pictures might help too.
Best Wishes
