Do I need to vent the stand pipe if I'm connecting directly to the 4" waste stack in the basement With a trap? |

If you are going to do it illegally don't use a p-trap....use a drum trap...."seal can't be pulled". |

Yes you still need to protect the trap seal. Put the vent after the P-trap. You can use an air admittance valve. |
