I'm moving my washer drain line to the other end of the room so it will not have a 10' run from the washer to the existing feed down to the basement and the vent stack. I'm doing it this way to avoid moving major infrastructure.

Can anyone tell me, I can still keep my 2" PCV but I will have to drop 1/4" for every foot so about 2.5" over the 10'. Does this sound right or do I need to go larger than 2" PVC?? Thanks

are you moving the trap or just trying to make a 10 foot long standpipe?

I was going to move the trap too. So the 42" down pipe (drain out of the washer) goes into the trap then to the 10' run through the wall (in the mud room) to the existing plumbing down into the basement infrastructure the builder put in. Also at the end of the 10' where the water goes down into the basement the vent goes up. Over the 10' I will have a 2.5"-3" drop as I have read is needed.

by code the vent needs to be within 6 feet of the trap for 2 inch pipe @ 1/4 inch per foot slope.

So is there a way to make that work? If I put the trap at the vent or within 6' and then run my 10' to the washer - is the trap required to be directly below the washer?

My goal is to get the new laundry room 10' away without putting in a new vent stack. I don't want another hole in my roof.

you don't have to run it thru the roof. it can double back and tie into the existing laundry vent.

Is it ok to use an AAV for something like this WM drain situation?

The AAV is what I am going to do. I talked to the plumbing guy at HD while picking up some lumber this afternoon and he suggested the same two options you did. The AAV into the the attic is easier and I think I'll give that a girl. Many Thanks!
