We had only scalding hot water coming from the shower head and so we replaced the Cartridge which is Part #P974042 on a single handle faucet and now we can't get any hot water. I left it running for 20 minutes and it is only luke warm or cold. The sink faucets and other shower let out hot water, We have a separate bathtub that is a garden tub in there and so this is a shower only. The tub gets hot water too. I have no idea what the problem is.

You probably misadjusted the temperature/rotation limiter, under the handle, so it cannot turn all the way to the hot side.

It does look like it is turned all the way. Any other suggestions?

Where did you get the cartridge? was it a "real" Pfister one? With a functioning cartridge, IF you did not have hot water to the valve you would not get cold water either, so the problem has to be in the valve. The limiter, and the balancer in the cartridge are the only things that can impede the hot water flow.

Try turning the high limiter the other way.
