 Running Toilet
Author: bobbyb (ME)

Recently whenever you turn the shower off, the toilet will tart to run. Or, if you flush one toilet on another floor, the other toilet will run. Does anyone know the cause of this and what can be done to correct it? Both toilet tanks are full.

generally rebuilding or replacing the toilet fill valve will solve this.
look at the valve you have and then identify it from google images. then look on you tube for video/s to repair or replace it.

Try lowering the water level a tad and see if that helps. Sometimes if it's so close to the top it won't take much of a backflow pulse to take it over the edge. If that still doesn't work, replace the valve.
