Replace Shower Tub Faucet, Handle and Shower Head
Author: snehra (MA)

Hi - looking to replace my dated (about 17 years old) Delta Shower fixtures in my bathtub. It's a one piece bathtub with a single handle, a tub faucet and shower head. Looking to replace all 3 items.
Is this a DIY project ? I'm novice but have replaced multiple faucets and shower heads.
My concern is around the shower control and if that's "easy" to replace ?

Thanks
Sandeep

Not real easy, not real hard either, but you will need access from the back of the faucet, most of the time a hole will have to be cut in the wall. You will need to use copper from the valve down to the spout so some soldering skills are needed. Might be best to hire someone on this project.

You should be able to find replacement parts, but depending on WHICH model it is, the selection may be limited as far as finish is concerned.

If you decide to solder, be extremely careful. If you have a fiberglass one piece tub/shower they are flammable and you can burn your house down....especially with the water turned off. Better let a Pro do this one.

Thank you for your responses. Based on feedback I would need to find a exact replacement in order to install new fixtures. I do not have the experience outlined in your posts (soldering or opening up walls) to complete the work.
Additionally one bathrooms shower wall lines up with 2nd bath tub wall. So I would need to break into the 2nd bath smiling smiley
I'll visit a plumbing shop to see my options.

Thanks Again !

If we had a picture of the valve and handle, we could probably tell you which parts you need.
