Double tub kitchen sink backs up
Author: iabland (CA)

Left side tub has garbage disposal, right side is just regular tub. Lately, experiencing water back-up in regular tub when running the garbage disposal even with very, very little to be disposed of. Have plunged and water finally drains but problem recurs. Have used drain cleaner multiple times with water going down but problem recurs. No water back-up anywhere else in the house so problem seems restricted to kitchen sink. Seeking ideas. Hoping to some simple ones. But afraid professional help is needed to remove and replace pipe(s).

try plunging while holding a towel firmly over the other side drain.

YOu may need "professional help" to UNPLUG the drain line, NOT 'replace' the pipes.
