 Power drain vent
Author: brusm (OH)

My house is 100 years old. The drain pipe/vent runs inside the brick. Getting to this pipe through the cabinets, tile, wall is nearly a complete remodel. This would be too costly. I am unable to run a second floor kitchen drain in to this stack until well below, 10 feet or more down. Can I use a power drain vent. It would surely solve my problem. I see these listed at home depot. Can I use one in Cincinnati. Code etc....

even if your inspector frowns on their use, an exception would be made for you since you have brick walls incasing your vent stack.

WHAT does this mean? What are you trying to do? Without knowing that, there is no way we can tell you if an AAV is appropriate.
