 inconsistent shower temperature, cannot regulate
Author: mckinley1112 (VA)

Thank you in advance for your response.

My shower will not hold a temperature, it is either cold or scaulding, no in between. It is recent as of the last few weeks, it has never been an issue before. The water tank is older - but we do not have issues elsewhere in the home.

Any tips on what I could try to fix this, i have to keep moving from hot to cold until i get a slightly cool temp that works for a shower - very annoying?

Your problem is very likely within the shower valve itself, especially if it is the pressure-balance or thermostatic variety.

I agree , the cartridge likely needs to be removed and carefully cleaned or replaced.

How do i get to this cartridge? DO i access by removing the handle from inside the shower? Do you have a link to a video?
