 Wood boiler help!
Author: Basic Bob (PA)

Anyone with experience please help, I haven't taken the leap yet but wood boiler is now in place outside I have my domestic water coil thing in basement next to my current oil boiler, hell I even got a electric boiler down there for gits and shiggles. My goal is to have radiant base heat and domestic water all running off of the wood boiler, with oil b/u for my radiant heat and electric b/u for my domestic. Can anyone please shoot me a link with proper hook up diagram, with all safety values and overflows and dump radiator locations and such. I'm 90% confident but I rather reach out for help and be 100% before I ruin something. It's been a long road to get this far. It was built into, literally, they dropped it into the basement and then built the house! So getting it out of there was fun then moving it to my house destroyed a head gasket of a work truck. Around to my backyard over my brand new deck. I rather not burn something or blow something up!

Thank you- Bob

[www.caleffi.com] Start at the beginning, you need to make yourself intimately familiar with that boiler itself. You need to know the manufacturers requirements and limitations.

Where are you looking packy? They are usually pretty careful, is there a component creating hydraulic separation?

That's a thermostatic injection unit. There's a circulator in it, although it doesn't show the normal triangle pictogram.

Fancy boiler bypass in that case. They have that huge buffer, and to make sure they're not sending cold water back to the boiler, they put that in.
