I have a jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom. A Moen one-handle faucet. Turn the handle and cold water runs. Continue to turn the handle and it goes to hot water. Well for some reason the hot no longer works. Unlike my bathroom sinks where I have easy access to separate hot and cold valves, nothing is accessible. I took off the handle, unscrewed the plate, looked into the now visible hole through which the pipes run and there is very little room to work or reach anything. I'm stumped due to my ignorance. I spoke to a construction guy who thought there would be a cartridge that would pop out but I don't see that. Just normal plastic and metal fittings. What do I do without tearing the tile off the wall to make the hot run again?

p.s. I'm in southern California where there are no freezing temperatures

It is a Moen brand positemp valve. Balancing spool in cartridge is stuck. Need a new cartridge. Contact Moen for parts covered under warranty or go buy one.....

Pull cartilage out, after turning off water, there should be two gaskets on the side of cartilage take them off and see if there is anything blocking water flow.

What cartridge? Is something in my pictures a cartridge? I can't seem to take anything else off or out.

Actually now after pulling on what was left, a silver sleeve came off and I noticed I could pull up this other copper piece. See new pic here.

I tried getting the white plastic piece out but that thing has zero give and it is super tight. Just trying broke a small piece off and still no give.

You need to turn the water off to the house before removing cartridge.

Depending on your skill level this can be easy or you can really mess it up to the point that you can not turn the water back on until repaired properly.

You want to hire a professional..........
