I own a manufactured home and need to replace my bath tub & shower faucet. I absolutely hate the whole "mobile home" shower and bath faucet with built in valve.
I am looking for a Tub Shower Mixer 8" Valve that works similar to the "typical" tub and shower faucet, with each handle on the sides with the tub spout pointing outward with the shower pointing out the back directly in the middle of the valves.
I can only find valves with the middle valve pointing up and down. I cannot use this type as I would then need to move the spout below the handle line. Going this way would mean I would need a plate to hide the middle hole and I would then have to create a new hole. There is not enough room anyway to put a new hole below the existing handle line.
It seems the newer external mixer valves would work but they only have the shower exit external and underneath the tub spout for use with a hand held shower wand. I am not looking for this type of system although if they had one where the shower exit went through the back through the wall, that would work.
I am looking to install this using a brushed nickel trim package which of course I have not picked out yet as I cannot find a valve that works for me. Your help in this matter would be very grateful.
I need a "real" valve that I can use with "real" "metal" trim kit.
As an alternate remedy, I would need a nice decorative 8"- 10" plate with a down spout hole in the middle covering the holes for the handles. I would then need to drill the handle holes above the plate. Going this way I could then go with the valve with the middle shower/tub valve pointing up and down. However, I can so far only find plates for kitchen sinks. These types of plates will not work.
I think I found a new business. Anyone interested in partnering up, please contact me - lol.

None of those have a shower opening at the "rear". They are looking for something similar to the old Milwaukee "Queen Anne" valves.

It would NOT be much of a business, because as soon as we created the first one, and you used it, that would be the end of the production run.

now that you mention it.. i remember 2 valve diverters that were put together with nipples rather than a solid cast body. sort of the hot and cold valves with a 4 way tee in the middle all joined by 2 1/2 or 3 inch long brass nipples.
i can't find anything on the internet but if one could be found then the ends can be unscrewed and put back on 90 deg different from origional.

Central Brass once made a chrome/brass tub spout with side thread stud, just for that purpose.
But what the writer is looking for is something from the past that may no longer be available because of safety reasons.
Best Wishes

Now you are going "way back in time" but most of them used a twin ell, NOT a "restricted cross" in the center.

Add-on shower diverter spouts still are made with the shower outlet. RV supply stores may have a faucet just like the one he has, but probably no longer have a brass version.
