 Whirlpool WHER25 hissing noise
Author: ikeeki320 (MN)

I have a WHER25 and has recently been emitting a hissing noise somewhere under the sink. About the best I can tell is that it is in one of the hoses. There are no leaks, but if I turn off the saddle valve, the hissing goes away. The unit is approx 6 yrs old, I change the pre and post filters when the light blinks, but it has been quite a while since I last changed the membrane. Any thoughts on the hissing noise?

The Membranes are not supposed to be changed as often but they will last longer if you change the other filters regularly. The problem is most folks don't know how bad their water is and it is trial and error when it comes to changing the filters. We have a Reverse Osmosis System we bought from Costco and the filters aren't cheap. We buy our drinking water from the Carlsbad Mineral Water Spa. It is really good water, but it is not cheap.
