Any toilets under 24" from floor to top of tank?
Author: jf0423 (MA)

I need to replace an ancient Eljer toilet that is only 20" from floor to top of tank, and I need to replace it with something short because it's nestled under a protruding wall (sort of like a little alcove) and there is only 30 1/2" clearance between floor and bottom of protruding wall. I've found some toilets that are 24" high, but I'm concerned that if someone needs to get into the tank to replace or tweak something, they will only have 7" of space to get their hands in there, and I'm not sure they will actually be able to see what they're doing. Do you know of any toilets that are shorter than 24" or do you have any other ideas how I can tackle this? Moving the toilet to a different spot is not an option. Thanks in advance.

7" is more than enough room to reach in the tank and replace the fill valve or flapper.

7" of clearance is more than adequate

a mirror can be used for 'sight' if necessary

sounds like my own kohler one piece nestled under the 'banjo surround' with 1.5" vertical and 2" horizontal clearance - i have juuuust enough space to insert my arms to the elbows and then i can work
