 New Toilet
Author: Rebeccaj23 (MI)

So I tried to save my mom money by replacing her broken toilet. It took a while but with the help of youtube my mom and I did this together last night. We were very happy because everything seemed to be working great! Until this morning when I noticed I was supposed to remove a rubber band (a regular thin rubber an you would find in a office)lapper. This put more water in the bowl (looks like the right amount) but now the toilet keeps running every 3-5 minutes and I hear this constant trickling of water. No water is leaking. Toilet did not start running until I took off the rubber band. I have been on hold with the aqua source company for the past hour. If you can help I would really appreciate it.

If the water is running every few minutes, then the flapper is likely leaking thru. It's not uncommon to find faulty flappers in new toilets, especially in a Aqua Source. I'd replace it with a Korky brand flapper.

Is the water too high in the tank, and running into the overflow?

If you are on the phone that long with Aqua Source, maybe others have had the same issue.
