Hi,
Could really use the help of some pros. Just bought new house. Had old leaky 1/2 hp shallow well pumps. Replaced the whole system. New Wayne 250 model 1/2 Hp pumps-Pre set at 115 and 30-50 psi.We replaced all the pvc,new solenoid. The pumps do not come with wire/plug. Took plugs off old pumps and used on new. Started the well pump first to fill the airaetor tank before turning on the pump to the house. Pump stayed on for a few seconds and shut off. Bladder tank pressure is fine. Tried the other pump and same thing happens. Filled and refilled water at plug and prime was not lost as water comes out into aireator tank for a couple of seconds. When both pumps were plugged breaker flipped and could not be reset. Changed lines in pressure switch to every possible combination and problem persists. Seems kind of unusual that 2 pumps new out of box would have the same problem or be bad. Must be something small that I am overlooking. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank
Pablo

A photo is our friend. If you have a conventional pressure switch, the line wires will attach to both outside terminals, the load to the inside terminals.

What is the air charge in the pressure tank ? If it's too high the pump will only run for a couple seconds.

Thanks for the quick responses. The pressure switch on each pump comes with the white and black wires attached on the bottom 2 screws. I have attached the power cord wires with the black and white wires just above the black and whites for the pressures switch and even reversed them, same on off result. These plug wires ran the previous 2 1/2 hp pumps, so I did not think they would cause the problem.

Maybe the existing power is 220V.
