I have a hissing sound coming from the main shut off. When I turn off the main- the hissing goes away.
I then found out that the front outside spigot is leaking and probably the cause of the hissing.
I can not find the shut off for the outside spigot-
My question is-- do you think the frost free faucet needs to be replaced or maybe just the washers and packing needs to be replaced? Or am I looking for something else?

If you're able, try to repair it vs. replace it.

with a freeze proof faucet, SOMETIMES you are better off to buy the exact make/model/length. then remove all the insides from the new and put them in the old. (sometimes)..
other times you just replace the bibb washer on the end of the stem...

I replaced the parts inside and that did the trick... thanks- I thought about it too much, it was an easy fix.
