So my basement wall header is attached to a joist, not centered on it. I got 3/4" holes in the header almost centered (1/8"off) for utility sink supply lines to come down (they'll have to curve up 1/2" to go above the wall header.
I could notch the header 1/2" for each supply - the supply is coming from a side that will remain unfinished.
If not notched and slid in....
It's tight to sweat 90's for 1/2" cold/hot supplies down the header in the wall to utility sink. Can I use stub-outs, no code issues with that anyone's heard of? I don't mind having to use couplings just below the wall header. The way I see it, I'd rather have joints where they're clearly visible instead of in the hole and above it.

Good. I just thought it made sense to "alleviate a pain" - keep joints both more workable and visible.
