I have a new installation of a Delta 1700 shower. When the shower is on and after it is shut off, the cartidge leaks at the point where the handle turns the nut to turn on and off the shower. Immediately after it is shut off, it drips quite a bit, slowing down with time. It is like the water in the riser to the shower head is dripping back through the cartridge and out the front. Is this something that can be fixed with an o-ring kit? or is it a defect in the cartridge itself?
Thanks in advance,
Scott

If replacing the rubber inside does not fix the leak, then it is probably a manufacturer defect. Just carefully reinstall as they were when the disassembly was made.

Yes but look what they charge for these valves etc, and they can't find a way to make them cheaper. Costs the customer a lot of labor year over year. Just saying...

They are making them cheaper, it's just that they are increasing the price to consumers as they do.
