 Radiator not heating.
Author: Tonyny638 (NY)

Hello, my first post. Wondering if anyone can help. I have a monoflo distributing type heating system feeding the second floor of my home. The radiator furthest from the boiler and main is not getting hot. I bled approximately two gallons at the radiator, got it warm but not hot, only to notice it got cold soon after. In the basement I noticed supply side very hot return side cold. The main feed is 1" and the branches off the "T" is 1/2". This issue started after I repiped the piping in the basement from running the perimeter of the house to running the 1" down the center of the basement and extended the 1/2" branches out to the risers. Someone suggested reversing an additional Venturi "T" on the supply side to hold back pressure to help the flow up the riser. Appreciate any input.

couple of things..
is there an angle stop on the side of the radiator that may be closed??
how much distance between the tees to that radiator? need at least 12 inches.. more will be better..
you can always change the set up from one monoflo tee and one regular tee to two monoflo tees.. one pushing and one pulling.

You will have to get someone that understands mono-flow systems, having mono flow tees on feed and return mite help.Mono-flow systems hate long runs....and long runs in 1/2" never help.question, how far up does the heat travel on the side that is getting hot....does any of the radiator get hot?
