 Adjustment of Flapper on Toilet
Author: PlumberLoren (CA)

My friend has a Toto One Piece Carlisle, the one with the narrow tank. The Flapper leaks through to the bowl causing it to open the ball cock to fill again and again. What a pain... Is there a secret way to get these Toto Tanks to hold water? TIA Loren Sr

Yes, Find out WHERE it is leaking water out of the tank, (There is more than one possibility, usually). Then fix THAT.

Apologies, I did not make it clear that this is a new flapper. Although it is from HomeDepot and not a Toto made flapper.

With the tank filled with water, push down lightly on the top of the flapper. If that stops the leakage, the problem is with the flapper.

I've always had success using genuine Toto parts, not so much when using non factory aftermarket parts.
