Hello,
I just had a backup issue that ended up being some roots in the clean out pipe in the yard. My question is that it looks like when the graded the yard they knocked the up pipe out of the T and that is what allowed the roots in. After the plumber found it he pulled the roots then put the pipe back in and said it would need to be dug up and replaced. When I saw it last night it did not look like the pipe was broken (it was dark) so before I pay to have them dig up my yard I wanted to look at the pipe in the daylight. I dug it up this morning and it looks like I would just need to pull the pipe and reseal it back in but wanted to get a second look before I tell them I don't want them to come tear up my yard. Any advice would be appreciated.

if the socket is cracked you may be able to clean it all up and re-glue everything and it will be fine.
if the tee is damaged it should be replaced.
if the riser pipe hasn't been glued back but just stuck back in, you can pull it back out and see the tee.
