Author: Joey c (NY) When one installs a hydronic hot water heating system manifold. 1. What type of valves, not familiar should be installed on the supply port valves? I hear balancing valves but actual "balancing" valves are pretty darn expensive. 2. Return side include a drain spigot? Thanks again Joey

Author: packy (MA) ball valves are fine.. as for drain spigots... you need a way to get the air out of the circuits. generally the drain spigot is used together with a ball valve below it to purge the air out. if you have radiators with air vents on them then there is no need for a purge set up at the boiler. put one of these at the circulator and it will act as a drain.
