A year ago we had our septic system replaced. New lines from house to new tank, d box and drain field. There is no issue with any of these, our issue is now with the horrible odors now coming from the vent stack on our roof. We had a plumber come out and check out the odor and he said we needed a new toilet because the old one had an issue that there was water running all the time. He also added a 3 foot piece of pipe to the top of the vent stack saying it would help with the smell. We have since replaced the toilet with a new one but the odor problem is still occuring. My wife and I are unable to sit outside and enjoy our hot tub when the wind blows the wrong way. Any idea what we can do?

You could add a charcoal filter to the vent on the roof. Sweet Air is one brand.

Carbon Filters for your drain vents work extremely well. Additionally, there are many other elements of a plumbing system that may cause sewer odors.
