 Weil MacLean boiler noises

Hi,

Now that we're using the heat some, the gas fired hot water boiler is threatening to break. It runs, but I've noticed that when it starts, there's a loud sloppy staticy kind of sound that I think is coming from the relay contacts.

Is the relay an issue I need to be concerned with?

Thanks guys.

The boiler is talking to you.....ignore it, and it'll go down in a blizzard, or Christmas Eve.

How about a helpful answer?

Sorry......I thought that was, but I will elaborate. The relay is very important. It controls your gas valve, and maybe your circulator. If either of those fail, you have no heat. In my case, and according to "Murphy's Law", the boiler would almost certainly fail at either of the two times I stated in the last post. My post was not meant to be smart-allicky. Houses and the systems that are in them, have a way of letting you know when something is wrong. If all the lights in the house are blinking, it's a pretty good indication of a problem.

You do not really give us any "useful" information that we can use to make an educated guess. Call a heating service person.

The system is functioning, but it sounds nasty when the really starts. So what further info do you need?
